Now that Jenelle is getting a lot of negative attention from her update, she’s backtracking about the original post. “Why is everyone taking this so seriously?” she tweeted, adding a laughing emoji. “It was a joke…. I knew you guys would trip.” Unfortunately for her, it’s too little too late and fans aren’t buying it.
“Idk what’s worse the back peddling or that she dared even posted that,” wrote reddit user misspriss91. “I’m pretty sure she believed that with David being <1 North African couldn’t possibly be racist. It took her close to two days to say it was a joke. I wonder if it was all the backlash or if one of the producers gave her a call.”
User leighroda82 wrote, “If it was a joke why did she double down on her instastory showing the results and all that? Why did it take 2 days of getting dragged on social media for her to come out that it was a joke? It’s always a joke when she looks dumb. And why is her defense always ‘why is everyone still talking about xyz’ idk Jenelle… why are you still trying to convince us about your perfect picnic life?”
